[Amazing] 4 Must See Laundry Service Hacks that Will Revolutionize This Industry

hanglaunI was just doing some research for my next dishwasher article review, when my eyes (left one especially:) came across this article that I’m about to share with you. First, let me point out what an outstanding job the author did laying out the benefits of these laundry hacks.

Well, is this article relevant to the dishwasher? you may ask ….  no! The  dishwasher is my favorite appliance- and base on my appliance service experience, the majority of my customers hate doing laundry, more than doing dishes. Maybe I should conduct a community poll to see which household chore my readers hate most. Dishes or laundry.

So, for you busy on-the-go people, or for those who just loathe loading a pile of dirty laundry in your clothes washer, check out these four amazing done for you laundry hacks:

Someone once said that only two things in life are certain… death and taxes. Well, I’d like to add one more item to that list: laundry.

Nobody enjoys doing the laundry, but they sure do appreciate the results. So what if you could outsource this highly personal responsibility to someone else? What if you could harness the convenience of mobile technology to streamline the whole process?

Turns out, you can do just that! Though it’s still a new trend, there are lots of app-based services designed to help lazy, urban-dwelling twentysomethings skip the laundromat and have their clothes delivered to their doorsteps. Here are some of the best.

Washio                washio-app

Washio has been in business for a couple of years now, and it’s has a remarkably simple premise.

Here’s how it works: If you live in one of the above cities, you can use the app to schedule a time for a Washio employee to show up at your address. They take your dirty laundry (or dry cleaning) and return later (within 24 hours) with fresh, folded clothes. Orders are also automatically charged upon delivery, just like an Uber ride.

However, some users may be turned off by the price. While Washio offers a $25 credit for signing up, there’s a $20 order minimum and a 15 lb. minimum for the Wash & Fold service. There’s also a delivery charge for orders between $25 and $35, so you’d better have a significant load of laundry if you plan to get the most out of this service.

Available in: Chicago • Boston • Los Angeles • Oakland • San Francisco • Washington, DC

TaskRabbit               TaskRabbit-appTaskRabbit is a more general service devoted to helping people complete tasks and stay productive.

Rather than hiring laundry “ninjas” a la Washio, TaskRabbit employs community-reviewed “Taskers” to complete your various chores and errands—one of which could be your laundry.

The downside is that pricing (and attention to detail) may vary from Tasker to Tasker. Services may also be limited depending on what time or day of the week it is. You may have to do a bit of research, but if you like the service, you may find yourself hiring Taskers for other jobs, as well.

Available in: Most major U.S. cities

Cleanly                 Cleanly-appAnother on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning delivery service, Cleanly allows users to schedule a 30-minute pickup window and promises to return their fresh laundry within 24 hours. The delivery minimum is lower than Washio’s (just $20), and can be reached through any combination of Wash & Fold, Wash & Press, and Dry Cleaning.

There doesn’t seem to be any particular feature that separates Cleanly from other app-based laundry services, although it is a bit cheaper. The biggest downside is that it’s currently only available in New York City (specifically, Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn). The app is also only available on iOS.

DRYV                                  DRYV-APPDRYV is pretty much a carbon copy of the above laundry services, with a few minor differences. For one, DRYV promises to return your laundry—fresh and folded—within 36 hours, as opposed to the 24-hour turnaround offered by Washio and Cleanly. The delivery minimum is $20.

The app also allows you to track the progress of your order, including email receipts itemizing orders and prices, along with notifications for when your order is ready.
